Hi Beauties! So I have to tell you guys about my nail technique! I used to go to the nail shop every two weeks and spend anywhere from $35-$100 on my nails and pedicure. That money would add up and most of the time the nail tech didn't do my nails exactly the way I wanted them. So I started doing some research to see if I wanted to go back to press on nails. I wanted to find any new techniques that would actually help the nails stay on long.
I found a lot of blog posts and YouTube videos claiming that their technique would last at least 2 weeks. After trying several different techniques that DID NOT work, I decided to try some stuff on my own and after all those products and techniques I realized that every step and product matters. So I put together a technique similar to the others but i use very specific products and they ACTUALLY last me 2 weeks! And they don't fall off. I have to remove them myself.
I don't have to be all careful and prissy when doing things. These nails are sturdy. I mean I change diapers, hand wash and ring out large loads of laundry, pull up and button tight jeans, wrestle with my children, move furniture, a lot of typing and everything else you could think of, I've done it with these nails.
I'm going to share my products and techniques with you in hopes that all my trial, error and wasted money was worth it so now you Beauties don't have to spend all of your hard earned money at the nail shop.
First things first. The type/brand of nails I use are Kiss full cover nails. Now you can pick whichever length or shape you like whether you prefer long stiletto nails, medium length square nails, medium length oval nails, or short square nails. I personally just purchase one shape at a time (100 count) and file them whatever shape I want. And one pack of 100 count nails lasts me MONTHS!
So the first thing I do is fit all my nails and lay them out to make applying them easier. Then I make sure my real nails are clean and ready. I then take some cuticle remover and a cuticle pusher and remove/push down my cuticles. This step is crucial because it helps the nails look natural and seamless.
Now that my cuticles are pushed down I wipe the excess cuticle remover off and clean my nails with a strengthening nail polish remover. This is important because not only is the polish remover cleaning the nails to help the glue stick better but this polish remover makes your nails strong so they can withstand all the strong nail glue.
After cleaning my nails, It's time to file them down. I use an emery board. And not only am I filing the tips of my nails down but I also file over my nail beds to create a rough surface for the glue to stick better. Once I've got all my nails filed down and my nail beds roughed up, It's time to apply the nails.
Now for the glue. THE BEST GLUE I've ever used. Kiss maximum speed, super strength nail glue. This is the most important step. Remember this glue dries fast and is very strong so be careful not to get your fingers stuck together and try to work quickly. OK so you want to take the glue and just using the tip of the bottle, rub glue all over over your nail bed. Cover your whole nail. Then you want to take the glue and rub glue on the inside of the fake nail. Just on the part that will be covering your nail. Now push the nail under the cuticle and then press the nail down and hold the nail for 5-10 seconds. Then repeat for all the rest of your nails.
Now my favorite part. Polishing! You can use whatever polish you want, do whatever designs you want, whatever color you want and even add little jewels if you'd like. I personally like to use fast drying nail polishes or i'll use a regular polish and then use a fast drying top coat and finish up with a fast dry nail spray. My favorite polishes are by Kleancolor. And sometimes I just swing by dollar tree and grab some new polishes.
Then you can do your pedicure to match. I file my heels with a colossal pedicure rasp. I then moisturize my feet. Then I clip, file and shape my toenails the way I want them and polish them to match my nails.
The beauty of this technique is that you can do them however you want, you only have to purchase all of these products one time and you can do your nails for the whole year for what you would've paid for just one month of nail shop visits.
These are my nails right now. They've been on for 11 days now and they are still on so good I may have to remove them my self because they don't fall off.
